What are the top AI-driven priorities CEOs raise with consultants?

I speak with lots of business owners and CEOs. I see these patterns and questions in those conversations:

1. How do I double revenue in next 24 months with same cost base?

2. Can I take 25% of cost out (overhead) in next 6 months?

3. I’ve had an “incident”. How do I not have an “incident” again? Could be cyber breach, H&S failure, poor data reporting…something worthy of Board worry.

4. How do I take my market share from 10% to 50% in next FY?

These are the actually driving forces for any transformation, not the technology.

We don’t talk about AI much in those meetings. AI technology solutions come later.

At Neologik we call these “one-liners”. If we can’t articulate the one-liner then we keep digging until we find it.

Cost, risk, revenue.

I met a CEO last week and we talked about two projects/agents. One was a cost saver, the other was a market share driver.

If we had Talked about Copilot features or Claude LLM version 4.6.5.1_turbonutter.alpha then I guarantee that nothing would have happened next.

Business fundamentals have not changed and these are very reliable parameters for decision making. AI will enable lots of new ideas, insights and innovations.

Business first.

Technology second.
