How are people reacting to AI actors entering the entertainment industry?

Interesting article yesterday on the BBC: person reacts in horror and potential loss of personal relevance due to introduction of AI (link below.)

Horrific reactions are not known to stop the march of technology.

The cause of this latest burst of horror is debut of an AI actor, Tilly Norwood, who is now being represented by a talent agency.

This is beginning of a new pattern. Human interest will determine what happens next, but let's imagine that the AI actor is cheap and will speak any script, in any location, at a moment's notice. There are no riders and no tantrums. The various unions will become increasingly irrelevant as they represent members who are now redundant. The wave extends behind the camera with even greater ease: editing is done with AI, there are no Key Grips or Best Boys and set production is a moot point.

And then, right on cue, stage right, enters Sora 2 from OpenAI this week. I encourage you to watch the video on the link and tell me that the film industry will not be significantly impacted by these developments. (Note that ALL of the video has been created by AI.)

The AI tooling is now available to anyone in the world, who can then create feature films without any of the current investment (millions for even low budget). A new wave of film production will emerge. Remember when we went from silent films to voice? Same thing times a thousand.

I'm not saying whether all of this is moral (or desirable), but I am saying it looks inevitable.
